Anxiety - Effects On Your Body.

'Living with anxiety is like being follows by a voice. It knows all your insecurities and uses them against you. It gets to the point when it is the loudest voice in the room. The only one you can hear.'

Anxiety is very paralysising and isolating at its worst. People who suffer with anxiety will understand this but friends and family who have never been affected by anxiety won't realise how bad things can feel/get.

Anxiety - the effects on your body!

Do these sound familiar?


-chest pains



-dry mouth



-shortness of breath

-low apetite or craving certain foods ( for me nuts )



-stomach pains


-pins and needles


-bladder weakness / diarrhoea

-jelly legs


You may also experience;

-mind racing

-dizzy / disoriented

-possible sleep disturbances

-feeling breathless or breathing fast

-nausea, lack of appetite


-jelly legs

-vision - strange or blurred

-difficulty swallowing


-sweating or shivering

-wanting to run

If you see a friend or a family begin suffering with any of these try to calm them, put a film on, get them some water, give them a hug, lie them down, get them some music.

If you, yourself are beginning to suffer with anxiety or a panic attack calm yourself by lying down and thinking of good memories, go for a bath, lie down and put your music in. Don't panic further!

Distract your mind as much as you possibly can.

Know that you are never alone and so many of us suffer from these symptoms everyday. We just have to keep them under control and deal with them the best we can.
