Firstly I am sorry for this post being so late.
I have no idea where today has gone.
I have received a proof copy of my book and just been flat out working on it to improve it ( think it could take a few days ) but want it to be as good as it can possibly be.
Today's post I just want to give you something to go away and think about, with some thoughts for Thursday!
So here we go:
* Are you a calorie counter? Is it making you unhappy - I am pretty sure it will be doing, so why are you still doing it?
Take the plunge - make the change and be happier, feel free.
* Why would you give up meat?
Going plant-based doesn't mean you necessarily have to go 'cold turkey' you can just lower your amounts and see a big improvement in the benefits you receive from going fully plant-based you may just not see the full potential of the benefits.
* Diabetes prevention.
Roughly 387 million people are living with diabetes according to the International Diabetes Federation that number is predicted to soar to nearly 600 million by 2035 that is a scary thought. If you are suffering from type 2 diabetes, a plant-based diet can cure your disease, research has been carried out and proven on this subject. So if you are suffering from type 2 diabetes - what are you waiting for? Save your health.
* Blood pressure lowered.
Research has been carried out by Harvard School of Public Health, revealing that fruit and veggies can lower blood pressure if you blood pressure is on the high side. With a high blood pressure you are at a much higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Two BIG killers affecting our population.
* Heart health.
Harvard researchers tracked the health habits of about 110,000 people for 14 years and found that intakes of fruit and veggies, the lower chance of heart disease.
People who have 8 serving of fruit and veggies a day are 30% less likely to have a heart attack or stroke.
* Weight loss and weight then maintaining.
Sick of yoyo'ing on the scales?
Yoyo, FAD, quick fix, Starvation diets?
Join the lifestyle where you eat until you are full, you are healthy and your weight stays the same! Though most people following this lifestyle are just thriving off the lifestyle and happy feeling great in themselves they admit to not weighing themselves and believe nobody is defined by a number - which is very true. However I know for health reasons some people do need that weight loss to help improve their health so tracking it is very important to them. Changing to this way of life though conquers all though issues, health and weight.
* Fiber intake.
Its surprising how many people don't get enough fiber. However eating high fiber foods, that are also easily digested equals improved digestion - reducing many stomach problems we all put up with everyday. The fiber packed in plant foods are also shown to lower cholesterol.
* Vision benefits.
The lutein and zeaxanthin pigments found in most plant-based foods are thought to help prevent cataract and macular degeneration
* Skin Care.
All the nutrients from the foods you are eating will help damaged cells repair faster - leaving your skin clear and glowing.
Also the vitamin C in sweet potatoes smooths wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen - sweet potatoes are simply the best, love them.
So there are just some little snippets of info to get you thinking.
Remember this isn't a diet - there are no strict rules, you adapt the 'lifestyle' to fit you, this is the key and I think this is why so many people who take it on live such happy, free lives - because they are in control, they are free.
Love and peace to you all, I hope you have all had a lovely day and let's hope tomorrow is another great productive day.
