The Final Countdown To Sophantastic Allergy-Free Creations Being Released & My Advice To My Close Friend.

Only two days to go beautiful souls!!

 

 

Totally excited, I spent yesterday eating lots of amazing foods - PURPLE SWEET POTATOES, I finally hunted them down. I was so excited to try them, they weren't as sweet as the orange variety but the nutritious value is higher than the orange ones, only slightly but like Matthew suggested having a mix in a recipe would be simply perfect.
 

So they were amazing!

 

My dinner dish was also super tasty - sometimes there are perks to insomnia - recipe planning.  I am going to keep under-wraps the secret of tastiness of this dish for more recipe books but it contained, purple sweet potatoes, noodles, greens, tomatoes, beetroot, cucumber, ground nuts, seeds and herbs it was MEGA and SO good. Everyone doubted I would finish it and guess what I TOOK it down, yes it took me sometime, but it was all gone at the end and I had been snacking on nuts, veg and I ate about 10 cocktail sticks with pineapple, tomato and pickled onions too. 

 

Top meal it was really good. I was stuffed and had a food baby after but not sluggish at all and by the time I went to bed I was just satisfied, I still had a food baby but I didn't have stomach ache and wasn't going to bed feeling my body digesting my food. An issue that regularly plagues me and causes me a lot of issues.

 

One of my closest friends Jacob has been suffering when consuming dairy and gluten and came to me asking for some advice, he was motivated to go more down the 'plant-based' way of eating, which is really helpful because you NEED to WANT to make the change for yourself otherwise you will take it on for a few days then give up.

However Jacob is in the process of eating more rice, fresh veggies, fresh fruits and foods from the earth that haven't been processed because he was getting terrible effects being on dairy and gluten - stomach pains, feeling sluggish and the general feeling rubbish. He has been feeling a lot better from the changes he has made. 

 

Now we all know dairy is toxic to everyone and will cause stomach pains in most people due to the fact it is SO hard for the body to digest and Jacob is already very healthy and eats lots of fruits and veggies but mixing these with dairy puts 100 times more strain on the digestive system with the combination of acidic and alkaline enzymes so its no wonder he is suffering SO much.  So he knows he needs to be really careful with dairy. With gluten - when I have gluten, my throat begins to close up and I feel incredibly sick, I then begin to feel 'not in the room' like in a blur and I try not to panic as a panic attack just makes it all so much worse, you have to stay calm - which is hard at times, and if I have had a lot it will cause me to have sickness. I am now getting used to my allergies and I know that when these things happen to get WATER and drink, drink, drink - the water will dilute the gluten and help the stomach break it down, hopefully preventing sickness and clearing your throat.
Gluten can be VERY harmful to the body for some people - it can effect your hormones, your skin, your body can see it as a toxin and can begin to damage your stomach when consumed, it can cause migraines (which I suffer badly from anyways), can cause brain fog and dizziness after consuming and mood swings - depression and anxiety. 

This is eye opening as gluten effects me in all the ways above but recently Jacob has been suffering from these symptoms - anxiety has definitely been effecting him badly which is heart breaking to see but it just proves that you have to eat right because food can effect you in so many ways and so badly. We NEED to educate ourselves. 

 

I know that Jacob is panicking about how hard it will be to truly be cut out these food groups as they are literally in everything these days - you have to really check food labels and make sure restaurants fully understand your allergies, because wheat is in most sauces, curry pastes, processed foods (as well as gluten,) gluten is in my oils, yeast is in many sauces, cereals, pastas, flours, eggs and egg powders again are in a lot of products to help them rise or add protein and dairy well milk powder seems to be in everything these days. You have to be SO careful and people don't realise how truly I would say incredibly stressful it all is. People are very quick to judge but Jesus, I think Jacob can stand up for me here and say how truly, truly hard it is and people don't understand until they have to do it themselves. 

I don't mind people not understanding but I do mind them judging - as don't judge someone's path until you have walked in their shoes!! 

But knowledge is power guys and if you put in the work into your research you can do it and you can find a way that works for you so you feel you aren't missing out on good foods, life and happiness!

Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN. 

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
