It's finally here. So nervous and so excited. I have literally not slept for about ten days with migraines, stress and excitement.
Suitcase is packed, I think everything is in and accountable for. I HOPE!
I just wanted to tell you about my book being available to have a flick through at the bistro at Acresfield Health Club and Spa for you to give you an idea of what my book is all about before buying.
I have been indulgeing on my fave recipes and snacks in the last few days- as will actually miss my recipes ( I say that now but will probably be loving the food out in America too much ).
I already can't wait for tonight's dinner and especially tomorrow's dinner, Brazilian- LOVE Brazilian!
I had a lovely girlie afternoon with Mama yesterday watching Mother's Day- fab film, recommend it! Very funny and so many amazing actors and actresses in we all know and love. I don't think we have ever done a cinema trip together but it was just nice to watch and binge out on a true girlie film and just spend a couple of hours together before being separated by the big pond!! Eek. I know time will fly SO fast but it's still a long time, and that if I come home!!!!!
Ahaha Mama will be panicking now- she knows how much I love America though.
I think Matthew is also all pumped up and ready to go too.. At the beginning of booking all of this he was eager to do it but now he would go for longer has already planned out next trip. So I am so pleased he is all excited and pumped up.
We will try and connect with you whenever we can- you know we will always be trying to connect. Time, signal and service, oh an tech issues will be our main hurdles.
So please be understanding!

You too can feel the action then, and allow your stomachs to rumble over the foods.
I made sure I blogged you this morning even if it was from bed!! :)
I saw a programme last night about low carb - high fat diets being the way forward and that carbs are the enemy they make you fat and gain weight because you eat them and then are ready to eat again a few hours later. The professionals fail to see this is normal and correct for the body!! It means your body has digested the food and used the energy. Fats are good- the good fats, avacardo, nuts, coconut oil etc but processed saturated fats aren't! They can't be digested by the body properly ( why you aren't ready to eat again, because your body is still working hard.) They say that if you eat carbs you are always craving bad foods and if you eat fat you are always satisfied. This is rubbish-
If you eat enough carbs you don't crave junk you just crave more carbs which give you energy that you want to use to move etc so burn it off ( another reason why you need more) as they say that we eat too many carbs then it stores as fat because we don't use the energy. This may be the case if you eat a lot of refined carbs like fatty breads and pastas, very processed with FATS because yes you store the fats because your body can't digest the fats.
Not refined 'plant-based' carbs are nutrient dense and fast digesting.. No bad fats, no horribles to be stored just good nutrients and energy. Just good wholesome, nutritious fats!
They don't tell you that the more fats your eat the more you crave and that a lot of your processed fats and products are full of addatives and chemicals that are A. Indigestible to the body. B. Is known to be addictive - the food industry know this and fast food is pumped with extra additives to get you ALL buying more, sneaky. Love cheese? It's the same story. C. The chemicals cause cells to form in the body - fat cells that can easily become cancerous or easily cause harmful diseases as they aren't broken down. D. They can't be digested - so where is all this stored? You aren't silly people! Yes!! In the body! In the areas you don't want it to sit!!!!
So this programme really annoyed me but I just wanted to share it with you - I could go on and on. But you get the main message!!
Again the media feeding us all sorts of rubbish... I guess you only truly learn by trying out different ways of eating yourself. Like a lady did I watched on itv. She had a good diet of lots of greens and good carbs and they made her change to a high fat diet for two weeks. She was healthy all her levels were bang on, after two weeks, just two weeks! Same calorie count but just a diet full of fat no greens.. Just cream foods. She then had chlorestol problems and would need tablets if she carried on eating that way, her chances of diabetes had doubled, she had gone from 27in waist to a 29inch waist, her stomach was hard and swallowen - very bloated, her pancreas had doubled in size with extra bile to try and help digest the food better, her liver had swallowen, her hormone levels were all over, her productivity was down, her sleep was worse, her digestion was bad and her mood was more irritable and her fat stores had risen. In just two weeks!!! She carried on eating 2,200 calories like she used to but just 2,200 in processed foods and fats and the damage done in just a few days are unbelieveable! Of course it was reversible at that stage but people who eat like this on a regular basis!! Are in serious danger.
So remember to check out my book on Amazon, flick through it at Acresfield Health Club and Spa, over a coffee and tea cake or a delicious lunch, carb up, eat well and enjoy life.
Health is wealth !!!!
Spread the #sophantastic buzz get in that kitchen and let's get cooking!
Love and peace to all.
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
