Firstly an apology for the lack of blog posts recently - I have been super busy working on my American recipes and book for you all from my recent American adventures. I am pleased to say it is going really well and coming together, just now have all the editing work that takes many, many hours so I just wanted to reach out and say that posts my be less frequent whilst this book work is going on but exciting as it will be available for you all to purchase soon. I will keep you updated. I have put a lot of hard work into this book - my kitchen has been very messy and I have provided you with lots of American travel advice for people who suffer with allergies.
Exciting times ahead - I am hoping you all love it and love the recipes I have re-created from your classic, traditional America dishes.
I also wanted to bring up that LA, especially is seen as a fab place to go for allergy suffers and especially vegans. I follow a woman called Claire Michelle on YouTube - she is a vegan who follows a plant-based lifestyle. She recently moved to LA and has been there for around 3 and a half weeks now. She suddenly woke up one morning and told her Mum she was going to book a one way bus ticket to LA from her home in Denver and stay in an AirBnB for a while before considering staying and living in LA. Her Mum was shocked and she did a video with her Mum, her Mum did eventually accept her decision and was proud of her daughter for being so adventurous and taking on this challenge. Claire believed she would find lots of things she could eat and enjoy and she has - but it is all unhealthy vegan foods - bagels, doughnuts, pancakes, burgers, pizzas etc. All 'fast foods' she admitted not having 'baked' potatoes, rice, fruit and much veg in the time she had been in LA and all this food she was eating was affecting her digestion and she had gone from having amazing digestion to feeling very sick and sluggish. She admitted that in her videos she has been portraying LA to be amazing and her enjoying the foods ( she has loved and enjoyed the foods she has been eating, they have been good) but the way she is feeling living off them she is not enjoying yet she was ploughing through, she used to have banana nice cream almost every morning and enjoy rice and baked potato lunches and dinners or even some days followed 'Raw till 4' eating many fruit all day, so she is missing all of that and doubting whether she can achieve this move. I can really relate to this from my recent travels which I talk about in my book and which you will all see very soon.
I just wanted to rise the point that we have to do our research, nothing is ever as it truly seems - places may say they cater for your needs but in fact full research on their side hasn't been done. As you can see from above, the types of food Claire is eating aren't catered for our allergies - so you can just imagine how hard it was for me and how hard it would be for other allergy suffers this is why I want to raise as much awareness as possible and spread the word to awaken people to these issues, help and make changes.
Thank you for listening and reading and I will keep you updated as much as possible I hope you understand and get excited for the finished product!!

Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
