Exciting Post. Friends Making The Change.

October 7, 2016

Arriving home yesterday to postage from Shield Crest was exciting. As I knew immediately it was the proof copy of my book.

After 5 weeks of working together over email to make the changes needed to improve my book it's so nice to see it in the flesh. Now it is just the time to go through it and highlight and make any extra changes before commissioning my book and having it sent to the publishers to be published and be released. Exciting times.

Although it is a long process hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

I simply can't wait for it to be released and to create more amazing recipes for everyone.

I received a message this morning from my best friend saying after talking to my friend Jacob, seeing my diet and recipes she is going vegan for a month and plant-based.

After hearing the benefits and changes Jacob has gone through and has found after cutting out meat and dairy has given her motivation to try.

This has truly shocked me as she lives on a farm and her family's career is farming.

But I am so pleased she is being open-minded and is willing to try this way of eating and living to help her feel better.

When everyone comes home it is going to be so fun to have everyone over and simply indulge on plant-based foods and recipes.

I am going to have to start creating some amazing recipes for everyone to try. (I like this challenge). We will end up having our own little plant-based crew - that would be amazing. Eating out would be so much more fun and stress free.

I know that my friends are going plant-based for health reasons more than anything but I appreciate their support and listening to my blogs, seeing my pictures and getting inspiration from my own journey to help them in their lives. This was my own goal and aim and this makes me so happy.

I know Jacob has felt so MANY benefits from this way of living and eating and health wise it helps him so much with his intolerance's without him feeling he is missing out on food.

People turn their nose up at this lifestyle, but after trying and eating the foods, feeling the benefits they completely change their outlooks and understand why they used to suffer so badly with digestive issues, skin problems and much more.

I hope that Laura can stick with it for a month and see the benefits for herself, maybe persuading her to make the life change and eat this way all of the time.

Best wishes for the weekend.
I hope you all have a lovely one, spending it with friends and family doing what you enjoy most.

COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
