Halloween Recap.

November 1, 2016

New month - ever closer to the festive season.

I hope you are all getting over this cold & flu that is spreading like wild-fire around us all at the moment.

I simply wanted to quickly re-cap over Halloween today.

I thought I had plenty of snacks, I know I have a lot of children around me however I did feel that my snacks and treats being all allergy-free would have put a few of them off. Though after an hour all my snacks were gone! I was wiped out.

What surprised me most of all was that the children got so excited and knew some of the brands ( especially Yo Yo's ), their parents were supportive of my cause asking about it and the fact the children were really into it made me super happy. Their bowls will full of your typical Haribo's and Dairy Milk selections, so for them to get excited over healthier snacks did make my day. They were asking about the Nak'd bars and what they were made of (which is nuts, dates and seeds ) its so refreshing to see them actually wanting to know and not mind that they aren't full of sugar and rubbish. Just natural ingredients.

I hope that the children maybe want to research into allergies for themselves, or are willing to choose the allergy-free plant based options over their normal treats that aren't benefiting them at all.
Treats that taste like 'treats' but are nourishing would do them all so much more good and after Dispatches just literally last night airing a program on the growing issue of obesity and people making the unhealthy choices that I do simply believe that if children were educated more and were able to try and taste 'alternative' brands and products that actually they would choice better options for themselves. Rather than simply going for the brands they know.

So thank you to all whom knocked on my door - you all awesome and spooky and thank you so much for being so open to trying what I had to offer.

Thank you again - love and peace.

SOPHIE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
