Because I haven't done vlogmas this year I have had the idea of giving you guys a recipe or products that are Christmas themed ready for Xmas eve, day and Boxing Day.
So from today until the 23rd I'll blog your with products or one recipe a day so you know what you want to be putting in those Christmas shopping baskets.
Sophantastic's Christmas Day 1;
Gingerbread 'Nice' Cream.
4 frozen bananas
1 tsp of ginger
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp of maple syrup
1 tsp Of vanilla
- Add all your ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
- Add nice cream to your bowl or sundae dish, then top with whatever you wish. I used chia seeds with cranberries and Gojji berries to keep with the Xmas vibes but don't hesitate to add more fruit, flaxseeds, coconut etc - the list goes on.
So simple - this dish can be eaten as a dessert on its own or it can accompany a main dessert.
Don't like ginger bread? Make your own flavour, as long as you have enough frozen bananas as your base you can add mango to make mango flavour, blueberries, mint & caco powder to make mint chocolate. Again the list is endless.
Let me know what you think of this recipe, if you like it, if you are having it after your Xmas dinners and if you would like more nice cream ideas.
Don't know how to create flavours?
Reach out - tell me your fave flavours of normal ice cream and I'll give you some nice cream alternatives for you to try.
This is also a great option for children, a lot healthier than normal ice cream to keep those sugar rushes at bay and they won't notice the difference. The fun of adding topping they want too will add a little more excitement.
Have a blessed Friday, do lots of cooking and eating.
With schools now beginning to break up I will try and suggest recipes that also get the children involved to help with entertaining them but also teaching them in a fun way how to cook and bake.
Love and peace to all.
This picture is my gingerbread ice cream, I actually made this last night as a late night dessert.
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
