With experiencing a tough time at present I thought I would share with you 10 hacks I use and you may find useful to help you cope through the harder days, and make life easier and as pleasant as possible.
Here we go;
1 - Stem bags, steamers & air fryers are life savers. Fill them full of veggies, sweet potatoes and steam rice. They make life so much easier and cooking time is short. 10-15 minutes and then you don't have much washing up to do. Stem bags can just be binned, and steamers, air fryers can go straight dishwasher.
2 - Use herbs and spices. Don't be fussing over making sauces. Herbs and spices are perfect for days you are feeling under the weather as spices like turmeric and ginger help with inflammation and sickness.
3 - Take a bath. Don't be worrying about washing you hair and standing up in the shower. Run a hot bath and relax as much as you. Make sure you have plenty of bubble bath and bath bombs in to help you relax.
4 - Loose, comfortable clothes. You don't have the energy to be pulling on tight clothes and they can often irritate our skin if we are having a flare up. Keep loose pants, baggy tops, maxi dresses and light weight skirts within reach.
5 - Heightened pain levels and flares up's automatically equals you becoming more irriatable and depressioned. Try to relax, lighting candles and creating relaxing surrounding.
6- Candles for light sensitivity. We can't always hack bright full ceiling lights but candles help set the scene whilst giving you just the right amount of light to be able to see in the dark.
7 - Try to do mindful activities. Whether it's colouring, cooking, journaling, sewing, painting. The list goes on. You can lose hours and create such beauty, which really raises your mood. You can buy cheap adult colouring magazines, sewing magazines, diaries and journals are easily accessible.
8 - Try to get into a series of movies. Allowing you to escape reality for a while as you are trying so hard to follow the story line. You can always read and get lost in a good book if you prefer reading. Buy a kindle so you don't have to hold a heavy book and invest in Netflix, Amazon Fire Stick or Now TV for series and films.
9 - Rest! Doing things on your rough days mean you end up using more spoons and suffering for this later on. If you need to use the stairs or have things to take upstairs make a pile and go up just once not ten times.
10 - Keep warm, buy yourself a hottie. One minute in the microwave and you have something to cuddle up with that's warm. No messing about with boiling the kettle, unscrewing lids etc. Buy thermal clothing for the colder days and when you temperature is all over.
I hope these little hacks you can easily adapt around your own lives help you.
You may say your life consists souly of the hacks above to get by, that's ok too. There is nothing to feel bad about in regards to that. We have to deal with the situation as best as we possibly can. We often have no control over how we feel / are going to feel. We have to work through each day of a daily basis- sometimes even on an hourly basis.
Do you have any hacks you like to use or recommend?
If so please share them!

Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
