Zero Hero - Poem

Zero Hero

Today,

Is a hard day,

Where are my angel wings?

The hell this disease brings,

Doctors of your symptoms can’t make sense,

Making you more tense,

You wait and wait,

Your hope lies in fate,

Invisible in illness and as me,

You don’t care to see,

How awful this disease can be,

Life to live you are free,

Jealousy I can no longer hide,

Sick of this rollercoaster ride,

No end for the pain,

Can you imagine the emotional strain,

The upset and fear,

No end near,

Call me lazy,

Call me crazy,

Walk in my shoes just for a day,

Then I’d love to hear what you have to say,

Follow the rainbow,

My pain and agony I try not to show,

I try to fill a room,

Pushed only in the shadows and gloom,

Exhausted and hurt,

Strength I have learnt,

In bed,

Taking med after med,

Who am I?

Stop! I can’t cry,

False smiles are all a lie,

You don’t understand how hard I try,

Trying to find the good in every card I am dealt,

The worst pain imaginable that I have ever felt,

Simply living,

Leads your body to be less than forgiving,

Nobody sees my cries,

That hide behind my eyes,

A silly girl,

Nobody wants to see on the dance floor doing her twirl,

I work hard for success,

My life filled with distress,

To wake up fresh and free,

How unbelievably happy I would be,

Then would you want to see me?

Understand me?

Today I have made it through,

Something this morning I didn’t know whether I could do?

I fight to heal,

Everyday I fight for my life - it’s real,

I survived another day,

What do you have to say?

For me I have to accept this fact,

To negatvity- never to react,

I ran a marathon today,

Tomorrow is another day,

I will fight,

Regardless if there is never an end in sight,

The longer I survive,

The more I can thrive,

To blossom and grow,

Into the girl I miss and want to know,

Cherish every day,

Good and bad in every way,

We don’t know when our time ends,

Show love to family and friends,

Honour laughter and the tears,

Everyday you are working miracles facing hellish fears,

You are a hero,

You will rise from this rock bottom zero.

COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
