The events, gatherings and social events come flooding in left, right and centre.
So does panic, anxiety and a touch of stress.
Can I make it to the event?
Can I deal with the event?
What to wear?
Take this day as a day for planning.
A few drinks there with friends, a couple of meals out here and there.
For outfits look in all the sales for some good steals.
Look for staple pieces that won’t go out of fashion quickly and you can style with different clothes.
- black dresses, skirts, jeans and leggings
- creams, reds and beiges.
There is plenty of blacks this time of year and if you have a little black dress you are sorted. Just spice up the accessories, wear different shoes or style your hair differently. There is no need to be panic buying five different outfits.
For men, a pair of smart causal jeans with shirts or polo shirts are always a save bet.
Pick your battles wisely;
Don’t be going to events that are six- seven hours in length. You know you will suffer and regret them. You won’t enjoy them and the result will be you will become poorly and miss out on other events.
- Always have a partner in crime.
Have someone at the event with you who understand you situtation and have an agreed time limit & code if you need to leave.
Having this friend or family member allows you to relax and enjoy the event far more.
If you aren’t there on time because you had a little wobble, don’t stop yourself from turning up. Just apologise and the people who matter will completely understand.
Do things YOU enjoy!
Don’t go to events where you are unsure if you will cope or enjoy.
If it’s an activity based outside you know full well you are most likely going to get poorly and so politely decline the event. Offer alternatives or agree to see and meet up at a later date.
Only dress comfortably!
Don’t go in tight clothes that make you itch and rub on your joints.
Pick lose, floaty outfits. You are in enough pain without the added extras.
Most importantly :
Whatever you choose to do this season! Do it for you!
You only get one life and limited time - so use it wisely!!
Go and sparkle this Saturday!
Remember you uniqueness, talents, and quirks are what will always shine through and be remembered. You don’t need to be in person at every event. Your loved ones will always keep you in their hearts!!
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
