Many events whether it’s with friends, family, work and/or simply shopping and day activities. Our calendars are becoming pretty crammed and there doesn’t seem enough hours in the day.
I have lots of things to be getting on with but when you are feeling poorly five minute tasks take 20-30mintues whilst you stare at the pile of presents you need wrapping but you worry that you may forget what you have wrapped and who it is for.
Before you know it,another day has gone and you feel like you haven’t done anything.
Today shine is what rhymes with nine so we should pin point that word and work on allowing ourselves to shine.
This time of the festive season we are so worried about our gift choices and creating happiness for others that we forget our own.
We forget that we have talents and skills that we can use to not only make ourselves happy but others too.
We can use our hobbies for gifts. And I am inspiring many of the chronic illness community to do just that. To create their own gifts for friends and family that are worth far more than any gift, money can buy. I am inspiring them to sell their work and creations to others seeking gifts so that they are spreading their talents, joys and happiness as well as receiving some money to put towards expensive treatments.
That is just one way to shine however.
Another is realising how well you are doing. How strong you are. How positive despite everything we continue to be.
We are quick to criticise ourselves yet if others were going through what we are going through ( whether it’s chronic pain, chronic illness or even just a rough period) we would be congratulating their strength.
We have to learn to turn that energy around once in a while and praise ourselves. Be kind to you and realise what a good job you do.
Shining isn’t about being present at every event, or the one who stays out the longest, looks the best and/or has flashy material objects.
Shining is spreading positivity, kindness and strength wherever you go. You will stick in people minds far longer and you may never have be present in person.
Love makes the world go round.
With love in you heart to share and bring joy to others and strength to battle through any challenege then you are the brightest star out there.
Remember what matters.
It’s a hard, difficult time of the year. As I know many of my readers have to live in isolation. Away from family and friends and of course socialising in public - party’s and gatherings are a no go. It’s a time we get very upset and feel very alone. When we are left at home or hospital and everyone else is out enjoying life. Life is tough - so tough and very unfair. We just have to realise that all the hype around us is all fun and games, yes and it’s sad to miss out. It doesn’t mean we can’t set our own rules, create happiness and shine.
We have the luxury to create our own rules and write our own stories.
I always like to think about the famous people we remember - their stories are an example. How nothing goes to plan but they broke the rules, set new records, standards and were different. They bring something to the table that many who settle and just follow the crowd can’t bring themselves to do- through fear.
We battle our own sadness, illness and pain EVERYDAYfearlessly. Facing fears is like drinking water to us. Easy and normal. That’s what makes the difference and counts.
You will be remembered as far more than the party girl or life of the party.
You will be remember as the one that got knocked down a thousand times only to keep gaining in strength when others had given up on you. Leaving everyone asking, ‘how the hell is she still here.’
You have hold of your own pen..
Use your ink wisely - write in ways nobody can forget you. Shine like a diamond.
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.
Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
