Day Fourteen - Wipe The Slate Clean.

It’s the time we all start overthinking and worrying.

 

Replace negatives with positives. 

 

We all worry about where we are spending Christmas, hosting parties and so on that we forget to actually enjoy this time. 

 

Instead of focusing on the stresses we should be focusing on the fun.

 

We only get limited time & we can’t replay it either. Time is precious don’t go wasting it worrying when everyone is filling up on the joy surrounding you.

 

It’s very hard when you are feeling unwell to feel joy and well... hopeful. 

You are left cancelling social events, appointments, days out, trips and gatherings.

How can you feel the joy others are feeling when you are stuck at home feeling rough and they are dancing on tables?

I find this a hard concept to deal with. 

 

Instead of sitting there in my own sorrow however I try not to think about what I am missing out on but more on how I can make up for this time. Just because I didn’t make it out doesn’t mean my time has to be wasted and written off. You can get so much pleasure from taking the time to do something you enjoy - whether it’s knitting, baking, mindful colouring.. 

Use your hobby as ‘your slice of the cake’. You can make a gift from your talents or simply keep them all for yourself.

 

You may not have the photo memories or the experience of meeting new people or a chance to dance but you have created a lovely drawing you can hang on your wall that you can look at and appreciate everyday.

Not only does it give you instant joy but long-lasting joy.

You don’t even think about missing out because you are too focused on your goal of completing your work. 

 

You feel less annoyed, upset and depressed because you don’t feel like your illness has beaten you.. it may have pointed you in a different direction. Which in the end could have been far more beneficial and enjoyable for you anyway. Maybe it has done us a favour?

 

We didn’t have to stress of feeling more poorly, transport, saying the wrong thing   with our confused minds, anxiety and so on. 

 

We took on a project and worked peacefully at our own pace.

 

Wiping away stress does our health so much good.. 

 

Symptoms are of stress need to be remembered by all. So we can quickly aid in our healing before we allow stress to continue to take over our lives and health. 

The signs;

- migraines

- mood swings 

- loss of focus

- depression 

- anxiety 

- irritable

- frequent colds

- loss of motivation

- loss of drive

- fatigue 

- skin problems 

- dizziness

- poor judgement

 

Stress does affect every part of you. 

 

Your digestion, appetite, brain function, mental health, physical health and so on.

 

Nobody needs these added nasties at such a fun time of year.

 

So quick... wipe the slate clean.

 

Have a more positive outlook on any situation - even if the situation feels like it can’t get any worse! The world hasn’t ended just yet, time goes on and so do you! Don’t make it rain.. but be the rainbow 🌈 that brightens the gloomy skies to show their is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. 

 

You don’t have to be physically present to make a mark. 

You can do many beautiful things behind the scenes quietly that make a far greater impact when it matters.

 

The most important message to take from today is..

 

Worrying and stressing won’t change the situtation.

 

You are still poorly with a chronic illness and can’t sleep for an hour, make a major recovery and go out. 

 

BUT

 

You do have control over how you view and deal with situations. 

 

Practise gratitude and highlight your talents, skills and hobbies that bring you much joy. Is a good start.

 

The best healers in the world aren’t those you buy over the counter.

 

They are right infront of our noses and are often free - love, kindness and inner strength. 

 

The above can conquer any situtation, they may not be an outright cure but they do work wonders.

Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN. 

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
