Our Number One’s.

March 11, 2018

This week has been a big week for women all around. With Thursday being women’s day and now Mother’s Day. It’s important to make the most of this time.

Mother’s and Nana’s are very much the unsung hero’s of our lives. They help shape us, encourage us to grow and care for us. They aren’t just our family but they are our closest friends.

They are proof that we are strong and we can do anything we believe in.

This week has been hard. So very hard. I wouldn’t have gotten through it without my Mum.

So I hope you all give and show great thanks to your most loved today.

And this is for my Mama.

Mama my one and only soulmate,

You and I take on fate,

We watch and we learn,

Our tears on our faces burn,

The struggles we go through,

We do the best we can do,

My one and only hero,

Every year that passes the amount that I love you adds a zero,

You are the rose that is so precious to me,

You have shaped the person that is me,

I hope to make you proud,

I am lost without your around,

My heart and my soul,

The years have taken their toll,

Down the paths of fate we stroll,

On and on time continues to roll,

Everyday that passes you are more important to me,

Without you - I could not be,

You hold my hand,

When pain reaches heights I can’t stand,

You stroke my hair,

When I am in utter despair,

You are the hug that makes everything ok,

Together we take on any day,

Good or bad,

You raise my spirits when I am sad,

Whether that days are hard,

We have a bond we can’t discard,

It will never fade,

Its colour a whole new shade,

Envied by many but I am the one to have you,

I truly love you,

Thank you.

COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
