Secrets Revealed - What's The Next Project?

I have been teasing over my socials about my next project reveal. I feel like today is the perfect day to tell you all about my next project. For some time now, due to my intolerances only getting worse and people forget that it isn't just about what we eat that can upset us and cause reactions it is what we put on our bodies and expose our bodies to, as well. I have set my sights on a new challenge. 

 

I am a true girly, girly. I love my beautiful smelling products and products that just add that little bit of luxury. In the last year, I have had to become very careful of what I use in the bath, on my skin, perfumes and shampoos because of the harsh ingredients added to them were causing me reactions. I think every girl loves getting goodies from the likes of Victoria Secret , Lush and so on but the ingredients that are placed in these products do cause some awful reactions to us. Shampoos and body washes containing milk, gluten -which cause inflammation in the body and many people suffering with chronic illnesses are intolerant to dairy and gluten but nobody would think about them  being in your shampoo. I have spent sleepless nights scratching my skin and itching my head. It isn't fun. We all want to keep clean and feel our freshest. I have also been considering how many of my readers are bedridden or spend a lot of time in hospital. So, how do you stay fresh and clean in hospital? I know the FIRST thing I want to do when I come home from the hospital is take a shower or a bath to freshen up. So I have considered this issue within this project. 

 

For so many chronic illness feels like a life sentence. Life becomes SO, much harder. You have to throw out your favourite perfume because the oils itch your skin, you have to get rid of creams with dairy, oil and perfume in them, you throw out your shampoos, you give up your favourite foods, you have to keep your air as clean as possible and it is tough. Nobody wants to live a bland life when there is SO many options out there and we all never want to feel like we are missing out. We miss our foods, our favourite products and the 'fancy' choices we used to enjoy in life

 

I have taken all of this into account. I was fed up of using bland products, that didn't make me feel a glamouous. When you go out and dress up, which is often rare we want to feel gorgeous and girly. So why can't we? The Free-From food market has boomed in the last few years, it is ever changing and improving for the better. They have seen the demand in the market and the increase in allergies and chronic diseases globally, that need to be catered for and the skincare industry will soon follow. Products take a lot of money and time to develop. I wish I was a scientist myself so I could magic some amazing skin & hair range that would be luxurious and cause NO reactions for you all to enjoy but unfortunately I am just me. I have however done my research, found and created some products I do feel will be of interest and excite my readers. 

 

I will be selling, SOAP SPONGE & EPSOM BATH SALTS through this website. The products are handmade locally in Lancashire and the flavours are crafted to my own personality which I am sure you will see in them.

 

SO, what are these products exactly?

 

The soap sponges are simply amazing.

 

They are perfect for travelling as they are lightweight and not liquid so can go in your hand luggage, fab for pre self tanning as they help smooth the skin. They are available in a small range of flavours handpicked by myself that reflects my personality. I wanted to find a product that would mean that people can wash themselves a little easier if they are bedridden or hospitalised. We all want to feel fresh and any home comforts goes along way when you are suffering with illness & away from home. Many soaps are made with lots of harsh chemicals that can be harsh on the skin. I wanted to provide my customers, readers and followers with products that we all love like Lush, that smell amazing but without causing any harm to our skin. On average these sponges last around a month. I have handpicked flavours and if these products do well I hope to extend the range of flavours on offer:

 

Lime: Of course for Lyme Disease. It is zesty and fresh. One of my favourite trips was to Cuba and they are the captial of Mojitos. So not only does this flavour reflect the disease I battle and live with but fond travel memories.

 

Pineapple: A troical dream. I am always dreaming of the sun and pineapple is one of those flavours that instantly makes you think of a beach not to mention before all my health issues Pina Colada's used to be my FAVE cocktail and it is still my Mama's fave. So pineapple HAD to be a flavour. It is tropical and is the fruit that fills my breakfast bowl whenever I travel.

 

Berry Sorbet: A sweet treat. Now, those who know me well will know how OBSESSED I am with sorbet. Ice cream used to be a staple to my dessert diet. So, when I became intolerant to dairy, my whole world came crushing down. We are still WAY behind in this country, only serving the typical sorbet flavours: lemon, raspberry and if we are lucky mango. My recent trip to Europe was sorbet HEAVEN, averaging about six scoops a day and trying every flavour possible. So, here we are again reflecting my travels because after-all these are great for travelling and reflecting a bit of me.

 

 

The benefits of bathing with Epsom salts are amazing. 

 

We know the importance of consuming iron and calcium for our bodies, but we tend to forget about magnesium. Magnesium helps the body regulate over 325 enzymes and plays an essential role in coordinating and organizing many bodily functions.

Magnesium deficiency accounts for high rates of osteoporosis, stroke, heart disease, digestive maladies, chronic fatigue, and arthritis.

Epsom salt is an easier way to get your magnesium intake.

 

What Is Epsom Salt?

Epsom salt is named after a saline spring found in the borough of Epsom, England. But it is not actually salt—it’s a naturally-occurring mineral compound of magnesium and sulphate. According to studies, magnesium and sulphate are both absorbed through the skin, which makes Epsom salt bath one of the easiest and most ideal ways to enjoy its health benefits. Sulphate helps with nutrient absorption, flushes toxins, and helps ease migraine headaches. Sulphate also stimulates the pancreas to generate and digest enzymes that are thought to help detoxify the body from environmental contaminants.

 

Health Benefits of Epsom Salt Bath:

 

1. Eases stress and relaxes the body

When the body is stressed, the magnesium levels decrease and adrenaline levels increase. When Epsom salt is dissolved in warm water, it is absorbed through the skin and increases the level of magnesium in the body. Magnesium helps produce serotonin—a mood-elevating chemical in the brain which creates a calm and relaxing sensation.Studies have shown that magnesium increases energy and stamina by encouraging production of adenosine triphosphate, which is sort of like an energy currency.

Bathing in Epsom salt at least three times a week will help you look better, feel better, and provide you with an extra boost of energy. Magnesium lowers the effects of adrenaline and helps reduce irritability while improving sleep patterns and concentration.

 

2. Relieves pain and muscle cramps

Epsom salt baths are known to ease pain and relieve inflammation from injuries and conditions. In addition, they have been known to heal open cuts and reduce soreness from childbirth for women. Try, for example, soaking your feet in warm water mixed with half a cup of Epsom salt. It will soften the skin and get rid of foot odor.

 

3. Helps muscles and nerves function properly

Research shows that Epsom salt can help regulate electrolytes in the body, which ensures proper functioning of the muscles, nerves, and enzymes.

 

 

 

 

4. Helps prevent hardening of the arteries and blood clots

 

According to studies, Epsom salt is believed to improve hearth health and prevent heart disease and strokes by improving blood circulation and protecting the arteries.

 

5. Makes insulin more effective

An adequate amount of magnesium and sulfate levels can help increase the effect of insulin in the body; this can help lower one’s risk of developing diabetes.

 

6. Relieves constipation

If taken internally, Epsom salt can act as a detoxifying agent to cleanse the colon. The salt will act as a laxative as it increases the water in the intestines and provides temporary relief of constipation. Consult your doctor first before you decide to take Epsom salt for constipation relief.

 

7. Eliminates toxins from the body

Since skin is highly porous, adding Epsom salt to your bathwater can pull salt and other harmful substances out of your body.

 

How Epsom Salt Baths Work

 

If Epsom salt is used on a regular basis, it can improve symptoms of conditions such as gout, athlete’s foot, sprains, nail fungus, and bruises. Those who are dealing with chronic diseases or chronic pain should consider adding Epsom salt to their baths on a regular basis.

 

To use run a warm bath, add a small handful to the running water, swirling them to disolve, you should, depending on how much you choose to use, have around 3 baths from each bag.

 

 

As many of you know I have been suffering badly with stomach issues and my liver is forever becoming overwhelmed with toxins. I try my hardest through diet to keep my body as stable as possible but when tests came back showing my body was too acidic, I began using Bicarb in my baths to help make my body a little more alkaine. Again, natural ways are always a better route than more medications but if I can help heal my body with Epsom salts that smell lush then I am one happy girl. I think looking at the list of benefits MANY of you will be able to find one point you feel Epsom salts may help benefit & improve your health. I encourage you all to give them a go. 

I am not here to hard sell, remember I am using these products myself because I want to help my own health and through my own journey is how I am inspired to help others. Chronic illness shouldn't mean we have to use boring products, or basic ones. We should be able to jazz our products up a little and have a touch of luxury too.

Banoffee: It is a classic dessert, we all love or 'loved' for people who battle food allergies & intolerances. Again, the smell of banana makes you think of tropical beaches and summer. Banana's were a staple swimmer's go-to snack too. So this flavour brings back many memories for me. 

 

Cherry: Our favourite place to holiday in Turkey has the BEST cherries that my Mum adores. She always had a massive plate full everyday. The location is our family's paradise. I have had so many wonderful memories there and it is close to my heart, as is my Mama. I also used to always search for the cherry flavoured sweets and pick them out amoungst the other flavours. Such a sweet tooth.

SOPHANTASTIC SOAPS. I am SO excited about this because I am loving the products myself. It is so amazing to be able to smell fruity and lush again after having to be so plain Jane in the last few months. Again, I want to make living with chronic illness that little bit brighter, a little more exciting and to help sufferers feel more included in life. Be able to enjoy product again and just add some sparkle back into their lives. Chronic illness just seems to take and take, well we are fighting back and adding our own special, unique touches to help us feel beautiful even on our low days, again.

Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN. 

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
